Anpalagan (Kannan) Kumarasamy is a seasoned professional engineer with extensive expertise in chemical engineering, complemented by a robust track record in leadership roles within the industry. As the Technical Director at Min-Chem Canada Inc. and Lawrason's Inc., Kannan has been instrumental in driving operational excellence, fostering innovation, and upholding the highest standards of quality and safety. His strategic vision and technical expertise have been crucial to the sustained growth and success of these organizations in the competitive chemical sector.

In addition to his technical leadership, Kannan serves as the Treasurer for the Toronto North Community Awareness and Emergency Response Association (CAER), an influential body comprising industry representatives, emergency responders, and local partners. His financial oversight and strategic contributions are integral to CAER’s mission of enhancing community safety and emergency preparedness.

Kannan's professional contributions extend to his active membership in Responsible Distribution® Canada – Leaders in Chemicals, where he has been engaged since 2007. Through his participation in numerous regulatory meetings, he has played a significant role in shaping industry standards and advocating for best practices across the sector.

As the President of the Vaughan Tamils’ Heritage and Cultural Organization (VTHCO), Kannan has been a key architect in the organization’s mission to preserve and promote Tamil heritage and culture within the Vaughan community. His leadership is defined by a deep commitment to cultural enrichment and community service, which has been pivotal in the organization’s development and outreach efforts.  Under Kannan's leadership, VTHCO aims to:
